Can anyone shed some light on the closure of the Carson Long Military Academy in New Bloomfield (Perry County) in 2018?

It was the oldest military academy in the USA in operation since 1836. Did modern parents decide that sending (or threatening to send) a misbehaving boy to a military school was not working anymore? My parents always threatened to send me to military school when I was naughty. President Trump's parents actually did send him to the New York Military Academy.

It's just a shame about Carson Long. Also, anyone know if the campus is currently occupied?

Update, apparently the Carson Long campus was purchased by The Talmudic University of Miami sometime in 2020. Just what Perry County needs.

Talmudic University has been talking about plans for housing, the impression I get is that it would initially be little places for folks seeking continuing education a la Chautauqua a hundred years ago. Definitely better to have that than a crumbling white elephant institution at the edge of a little town.
