Hi everyone...

I am a graduating college student (from Michigan State University) and have a job set up in Hershey, PA.

I am not really familiar with the area at all, and was wondering if anyone had any advice on where a nice area would be that I could look into moving to.

Thanks!

Check out Elizabethtown, PA. Cheaper than Hershey but just as nice IMHO. Very safe, clean, nice town in between Harrisburg and Lancaster (~20 minutes to each). E-town is 10 miles away from Hershey (~18 minute drive).

Hershey is a very nice town but it is overpriced IMHO. You could also check out Palmyra but it's been years since I was last there so maybe it changed? Honestly I can't think of any town near Hershey that I wouldn't want to live in other than maybe Lebanon. just my 2 cents.

Good Luck.

If you're a young, single guy then I would highly recommend living in Harrisburg (city) either downtown or midtown. Lots of young professionals here (really the only spot with a lot of those types in the area), lots of restaurants and bars and easy commute to Hershey. If you can afford it, Hershey is a good place to live too. Also check out Hummelstown.

When my daughter first started teaching a few years ago, she worked in Palmyra. She first had an apartment in Lebanon and couldn't wait to move out. After they passed, she lived in her grandparents house in Elizabethtown. Later, she moved to an apartment in Hershey. I agree with the comments by the above posters, I would also suggest taking a look at Middletown. In Elizabethtown, Rockwells was always very popular for dining out along with a ton of places in Harrisburg.
