I am from NJ, spent some time in the Reading, PA suburb area. Am living in Mississippi currently due to taking care of an ill father-in-law, who has since passed away.

We would like to move more north. We were thinking of Raleigh, NC. However, my husband can transfer within his job to Hershey, PA.

Any good sites where I can get more info on this area, including sites where I can find rental ads, etc. Thanks so much!!!

Hershey resides in a very quaint, rather rural area, and geographically it lies in the westernmost portion of Southeastern PA (Dauphin County). It's a nice option if you want to be adjacent to civilization, but not in the middle of the rat race -- being within 30 min. of Lancaster, 45 min. from Harrisburg, around an hour from Reading, and within two hours of Philadelphia. Of course, it's known as a big tourist destination for chocolate lovers from all over the world (Hershey Park is a really awesome time, by the way). It's also an attractive alternative for its lower cost-of-living compared other counties which are closer to Philly. This seems to be a helpful website:

Good Luck!

visit pennlive.com for further information, it is a very nice safe town with lots of shopping and jobs. palmyra and hummlestown are closeby. it is home to hersheypark and hershey foods. its is probably the most expensive area of dauphin county to live in. most of the homes are newer and up to date, there are hundreds of homes being built in south and west hanover township.

I live in Raleigh and we are thinking of moving to Penn.! The traffic here has gotten bad and we are spending 2 hours a day commuting. We visited Hershey a few years ago and thought it was beautiful.
