The "body of water" would be maybe floating down the nearby Conodoguinet and Yellow Breeches creeks to the (nearly) mile-wide Susquehanna River, that in high summer is usually more rocks than river. Think more fish from a jon boat, kayak, canoe, or maybe pontoon boat nearer some of the power dams downstream, than high-horsepower ski, or even jet ski.

As for hiking areas, start here: SATC - Hiking Southcentral Pennsylvania

Some parts of adjacent Wormleysburg and nearby New Cumberland have leafy settled neighborhoods like Camp Hill does. Mechanicsburg Borough too but Mech. tends to have a smaller lot size. (Not to be confused with the Mechanicsburg postal address that goes far out into lands of suburban sprawl.)

On the "East Shore" Hummelstown, Middletown, Palmyra, and Hershey have leafy settled neighborhoods as well. Hershey in-town brings a premium probably higher than Camp Hill.
