I'm looking to buy in the Midtown-Uptown, area but skittish about investing in a place with out parking -- especially considering all the development, investment that is "supposed" to be coming to the area.

that whole are has really been cleaned up, especially around maclay, in the past 5 years. trust me, next to the new HACC campus they are buying 5 or 6 rowhomes and bulldozing them and turning it all into parking, yeah parking can be tight in that area, but you need to watch out. a lot of young professionals are moving in there, people eho have to live in the city or people who prefer the city life. i eat regulary at 3rd and reily and let me tell you, its okay, but it seems like in the past few years parking is getting worse and worse.
