Hello, Looking at a work move this summer. Husband will be working at the Hershey Medical Center. Where should I be looking with an infant? Needs are: activities for a preschooler, a gym, and convient grocery shopping. We are origionally from the city. We are looking for a quiet family town. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, the search was very helpful. How is the housing market holding up in the area. Just started some online searches. Expecting to buy in April/May to move June/July.

Seems to be fine. Still building in the Meadows development on the north side (South Hanover Twp, LD schools, Hummelstown address). Giant grocery store right there, bigger/better selection than the one at the SE side of Hershey.

The newer area around Gelder Park has many folks associated with the med center and some resales in the Southpoint area just built out (Derry Twp & Hershey schools, Hummelstown address) Not too far from the Gold's Gym and Weis market at west end of Hersheypark Drive (Hummelstown address again), or in the other direction the newer Giant grocery store in Middletown Borough.

Thanks for the info. It seems like the Hershey/Hummelstown school district is highly regarded. I guess that is why the housing in alittle more expensive then say Palmyra/Annville. What is the Amusement Tax? Is that just in Hershey itself or all areas?

Thanks for the tax link. I am just starting to learn more about the area. I have been there as a tourist but never thought I would be living there. Is there anything else I should know?

what city?
middletown itself has older houses but has both a new giant as well as a nice, sizable in town store (karn's). it's not city living but it's somewhat walkable and there's a train to the city (be it harrisburg, philly, or ny)
