Can anyone give me any information about dance studio's surrounding Hershey? Would I be better off opening one? Where? What is the small business climate like in the area?

I have a master's degree in dance ed and will be moving soon for my Husband's work.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

There are a couple of them already, although I forget what my wife said about them. Our daughter wound up doing gymnastics instead.

Small businesses seem to find more welcome and roots in adjacent Hummelstown and Palmyra Boroughs rather than in Hershey itself. I just saw a "for rent" sign go up in what was a small old tire shop on E Main St in Hummelstown, that might be a good spot for a dance studio just down the block from the big toy store.

Hey thanks for the advice. It is a big decision and not knowing the area may be difficult. I am very interested but concern about local felling toward small business and the national climate is somewhat hostile to business in general at the moment. I do not want to draw clients away for current dance schools either.

Did you ever look into opening a dance studio in the Hershey area? If so, what were your results? I live in Palmyra and am very passionate about swing dancing. I have been looking for opportunities to promote swing dancing in this area since there are ballroom and ballet studios but no social dancing spots for east coast, lindy, balboa, and blues.
