So how is Marysville? I'm finding conflicting crime statistics on the web. City Data makes it look nice but Sperling's makes it look not so nice, especially when it comes to the violent crime. We're looking at some rentals in "downtown" Marysville, if you could call it that . I'm surprised at how the rent is cheaper there & houses are as well. Are there any caveats to the area? We homeschool so the school districts are not an issue for us. We just want a nice safe neighborhood to live in that's affordable & not more than a 15 min. drive to Harrisburg. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Any small community will have blips on the statistics. Marysville's crime, if you can call it that, has not been gang-banger style random violence. Similarly to, say Enola or Duncannon, it seems some of the in-bred meth-heads go at each other sometimes.

Below the tracks in Marysville is flood zone. Yes that river can come up that much.

Switching ends of the area, Middletown is more mixed-race but seems fairly stable and often overlooked as an alternative moderate-cost housing option in the Harrisburg area. I know some long-time residents of Steelton and Penbook that consider those city-edge boroughs going downhill.

Haha, yes, Marysville's crime isn't exactly the shoot em up time. It's more methy stuff.
