It will happen tonight. The first Blue Moon since a Blue Moon (lol)dry........

Oh yes a Blue Moon; perfect time to teach the kids what it means. Many times we hear the saying involving Blue Moon but many of us don't know what it really means.

This phenomena only happens when there are two full moons in one month; no wait it's acutally when there is one extra moon per season which is an uncommon occurrence hence the saying refers to incidences that occur rarely (I suggest the two moon one month theory since it is a common belief held my many).

The next Blue Moon will occur in 2012 so enjoy this one tonight!

We will be driving the Hamakua coast back to Waimea tonight. Hoping for clear skies -- Hamakua full moons are amazingly beautiful!

Yup, clear Hamakua sky and huge moon out there. Looks more gold than blue, tho! Hmm, just looked again, now it's further up in the sky and more silver/blue than gold.
