Just don't cut the centipede in half - then you just have 2 of them running around.

Don't step on one while wearing slippahs!

I found that a big cast iron skillet is an excellent centipede execution device.

Just catch em and put em outside.. Once you do that, without hesitation, you might actually stay here for more than two years.. Bunch of babies. Cannibals, however, are a totally different scenario..

Aloha

Sooooo, I had a juvenile centipede running down my living room wall tonight. It's anyone's guess how he got in, or how he ended up running down the wall (where was he coming from?). He was dispatched to centipede heaven.

Totally off topic...wish I could find a picture. Never took one when I lived on St. Croix because the billboards were on the highway and I didn't want to pull over and get hit by another motorist.

Anyway...there is a billboard campaign in the USVI warning of unprotected sexual relations. It features an incredibly beautiful Crucian woman in a silk negligee...in bed with a huge centipede. The message is "what is scarier than unprotected sex? Not much!"

Here's a video version of it, since I couldn't find a still. Starts out with the PR version but leads to the English language version.

Giant centipede. Free high protein chicken food! Have you seen the price of laying mash? Bring on the bugs.

Spraying around (or in) the house is not going to stop that from happening.
Exactly...I have wire mesh stoppers on all drains, on anything that remotely connects to the outside. I've calked every little teensie opening anywhere in the house. Thanks for the towel trick CyberCity. Since we have 1 a month or so I tried the towel trick and it works. We live in the country (Laie) so it's expected; still can't get used to the darn things though.

Yeah, I've not had the "hide the centipede" capture technique fail yet. A totally weird thing about centipedes, if you put them in 100% bleach, it does not kill them. I had thought bleach killed everything, but a centipede just swims around in it.
