I think the half homeschool/ half public school curriculum has to be approved by the principal of the school involved. I've known a few home schooled kids who have had part time public school activities and classes. The schools also seem to occasionally take part time high school and part time college classes for select students. Mostly the parents go into the school and make the arrangements.

Is there official credit for both, for applying to a college?

Here is a link that might help you out:
It is from the Hawaii Department of Education.
You should also contact charter schools near where you will be moving since many of them on the Big Island have alternatives such as partial home schooling and on-line classes.
