I am pursuing a job lead at a CHC in Hawaii. No mention has been made of salary ranges for medical or dental providers. CHC's on the mainland will pay less than a private practice doctor or dentist could make. But their benefits package & paid-time off usually help offset the losses.

I get the impression that salaries are not as good on the islands--any forum dentists or doctors at Hawaiian CHCs confirm this is the case in their industry? Should a CHC medical provider expect to make about the same as their mainland counterparts? Or is there any kind of cost of living adjustment? Can you comment on benefits (particularly family medical & paid time off)? What about moving expenses? Many mainland CHCs will offer sign-on bonuses and moving assistance.

I don't know the salaries specifically at CHC - but primary care physicians in Hawaii generally make in the lower $100K level - and a bit more with a dentist.

A CHC dentist in the northwest should expect to make between $100-130K + benefits + moving assistance. Anyone know if one can expect a similar package in Hawai'i?
