Aloha and mahalo,

this one differs about 2 ways from the other questions round here

1. I'm not haole (some people think I look japanese, some think filipino, and others hawaiian)
2. Whole family lives on the islands
3. I have a place lined up for me, luxury high rise condo downtown honolulu 2b/2bath honolulu 850/mo w/ utilities, cable, internet included (already visited it)

You guys think I can survive long enough in Hawaii with 15k in savings to carve out a living? since I hear it takes about a year to find a job there

new grad nurse with no experience, no job lined up and no hookups in the medical field

thanks again and aloha pau hana

edit: been practicin my pidgin and gonna ship my car but prolly gonna sell da kine

This is not a good market for nurses, worse for nurses who have just graduated, worse yet for those who just moved here.

As for the budgeting, you'll have to work on that yourself.

I call BS on this post. Your whole family lives in the islands and you're moving here? Any more details on that? $850 2/2 luxury downtown condo? Unless you have a special deal or living with multiple roommates that's impossible. Oh and don't try to talk pidgin, you'll just sound dumb, at best. If you don't speak pidgin naturally, don't even try. Best stay where you are.

You know that everyone does not talk like that, right? In business, and when communication is essential, pidgin is not used, and if it is, it's a light sprinkling of apropos choices.

I'm not sure what possesses people to try to emulate the patois of the poor and uneducated.

I think this guy sounds ridiculous. Why would he try to be something you are not?

Professionals in the medical field here do not talk like that, atleast not any that I have ever met.

Why would someone lower down their educational level on purpose? If you grew up like that its one thing.

Obviously he is a poser.
