Where does one get a labtop? I'm not current on my technology - is that also from the borg?
I have an advanced degree in linguistics. I have written for and edited academic journals. I have taught ESL for more than 25 years, and am a complete and total grammar geek. Spelling and grammatical errors in an academic essay, a resume, a business letter, a journal article, etc. are like bamboo splints under my fingernails.
On a public internet forum, where posters are anonymous? I could care less about someone's grammar and spelling unless it honestly gets in the way of comprehending what the writer is trying to say. I refuse to make a judgement about intelligence or experience based on the fact that someone misspells something, or gets a word wrong, even lots of them. Some of the stupidest people I know can spell really, really well, and some of the smartest people I know can't write or spell worth a damn.
If someone's grammar or spelling truly does get in the way of understanding what they're trying to say, then ask (unsarcastically) for clarification. However, I'm guessing most people are intelligent enough to figure out what the writer is trying to say, even if there are spelling or grammatical errors. And, if the mistakes bother you to a point that you have to make it personal, then just don't read their posts.
IMO, ragging on someone about grammatical mistakes and spelling on this forum is flat-out bullying.
True. I was thinking Executive/Upper Management. That's mostly Caucasion.

Furthermore, the poster over and over has stated several times said he is a product of the Hawaii school system and poor grammar and spelling is simply putting everyone who actually lives here in a poor light.
Lastly, an inability to put sentences together or spell correctly is a direct reflection on the posters credibility.
That's a laudable sentiment, considering that some folks around here regularly misspell "Caucasian" and "Hawaiʻi."
I tend to judge a particular posterʻs credibility by the content of what they post, not perfection in grammar and spelling. Now, getting back to the "Coconut Rhinoceros beetle"...

All I know is that, is if the infestation was on the East side of the Big Island, the infestation would be largely ignored until it hit Oahu or Maui (reference LFA). Then it would have become the big emergency that it is now. It's nice to see things reversed for a change.
I read that the coconut rhino beetle was only found at Pearl Harbor/Hickam base so far. I don't think that I am going out on a limb here by suspecting military planes and/or their cargo from Guam, Samoa or the Philippines having been the mode of transportation.
