Mint flavored Spam in a tube........kind of like rack of lamb with real mint jelly..maybe not... What Hawaii really needs is a Spam monument, dey get one for Do Ho, King Kamehameha, Queen Liliokalani, why not one for Spam????? Who's more da kine popular anyways? I can see it now, way up top da Pali ovah da tunnel, twelve story tall can Spam, lit up at night fo everyone to see, even from downtown, people, Spam worshippers from round da world would fly over to see em, tourism would be boosted by 50%, no more need for casinos already. Everyone would drive da Pali rather then da H3 or LikeLike, traffic would be backed up for miles, but no one would mind, dey stare, as if hypnotized, at da Great Can of Spam, say a little Spam prayer as dey open dere own tube of spam, and enjoy. Course, drivers would be so mesmerized by da Great Can of Spam dat dey wouldn't pay much attention to dere drivin, would be plenny da kine accidents, body shops downtown would be really happy though. Maybe not such a good idea after all......... And da idea of a Spam cult is kinda scary, so, nevah mind..................

Eh bruddah, taught you was akamai? Da kine is da kine, it's been explained before, get dis kine, dat kine, da oddah kine, my kine, your kine, their kine, his kine, her kine, wahine da kine, kane da kine, any da kine, not da kine, and, maybe da kine. Kine pronounced as in kein, I guess, proper pidgin wouldn't exist without this word that means just about anything when used properly. Da kine is the kind, "Eh bruddah, you get da kine cah!!!" as in, "your car is great", somting like dat, or, "Your cah stay da kine make", as in your car is dead, its a difficult word to explain, but once you stay get em, you get da kine!!!!!!!!

Aloha and okolemaluna

Kani-Lelolo will be here in less than 10 minutes

Ok, I didn't know it was explained before. Remember, we aren't even supposed to be allowing it on this forum because it isn't a local forum. People from all parts of the country (and world) are reading Cita-Data forums. Again, if it gets to the point where the majority reading these forums have a difficult time understanding what is said, we'll have to insist that it not be used. Please understand.

So excuse me if I missed the explanation.

Ok so "da kine" translates to "the kind" ? In Hawaiian, I would have expected it to be prononuced, as I said before, "dah keenay" ...maybe it should be written "da ka'in"

I've wanted to make spam musubi for some time now if I can get the hang of the vinegar rice preparation.

Can anybody give me some easy Hawaiian recipes to try that have Spam as an ingredient?

Did anyone see the Anthony Bourdain show on the Travel Channel?

Hong Kong : Anthony Bourdain : TV Shows

The link above lists a few of the places he featured on the show...Yes, he ate spam, but the restaurant he was at isn't listed! His favorite dish was a Spam musubi with fried rice and he also liked the Spam saimin.
