However, when you use the tactic of alarmism to justify stealing freedom, bit-by-bit, from the people, global warming makes great subject matter.
Once again you and other poster are going on about the science as if you know better than climatologists by contradicting what they are telling us. They have no power to enact regulations, taxes or policy of any kind.

Environmentalists and some politicians are calling for action, yes and they’re alarmed but for good reason.

The alarmists who are full of nonsense are the ones suggesting that it’s all a vast conspiracy, a ploy to convert
the country to socialism. Higher taxes? Maybe, maybe not. Who wants to pay higher taxes? No one, including the very few real socialists in this country.

But, when you make a mess it usually takes some money and work to clean up.

Thanks for clearing that up
Behind your cynicism, you have it pretty much correct.

In any population, there are some who oppose progress, who oppose success, especially on the part of others... They work tirelessly to destroy that which they, themselves, are impotent to create or even participate in. It is part of human nature, which I, after 6 decades of observation, have become well-versed in.

They are to be denied their goals, and, if necessary, beaten down into the gutter to stop them, for they threaten civilization itself.

For example, ANTIFA, masquerading as being anti-fascist, they themselves are every bit the fascist, and are, in tactic and MO, indistinguishable from the Brown Shirts (SA) in their infancy. It only gets worse.

In any case, have you, as an avid ocean recreation participant, directly observed any ocean rise whatsoever?

It is sad that you can't see that the the so-called experts are agenda driven, not fact driven. Learn to see behind their masks, and you will start to see truth, and truly understand what is actually happen. Climate change is just one facet.

I'll give you just one little tidbit to help you. Notice that to these people, no solution to the problem they clamor on about is acceptable.

Coal is bad, use something else. Nuclear? No that is bad, use something else. Wind? No that is bad (kills birds), use something else. Gas? No that is bad, try something else... and it goes on forever. Always going after more of your lifestyle, your freedom.

Also, note if these people (Al Gore for example) practice what they preach. You'll soon find out the answer is NO because it is about stealing YOUR freedom, YOUR lifestyle etc., from YOU, NOT their freedom and lifestyle from themselves.

Climate change is but a charade to reduce you and your lifestyle, nothing more.

Pretty much every time I drive to Lahaina during a king tide. And. no. it wasn't always this bad.

You might want to look into Milankovitch. Another crazy, far left wing, post Kennedy bleeding heart liberal climate change conspirator.

What to do about it, as a country, as a state, is open to debate.

Turning control of industry over to government is DOA-not a valid concern.
And acknowledging that CO2 is not a pollutant would be a great start at intellectual honesty. It would also be intellectually honest to acknowledge the greatest greenhouse gas in our atmosphere is water vapor, not CO2. CO2 makes up approximately four seats in a 10,000 seat stadium. Basically CO2 has zero affect on global warming. That would be intellectually honest. The real concern is running out of fossil fuels way into our future. This is the real concern and that is why renewable energy is so important. That would be intellectually honest.

Doesn’t appear that you understood my post.

Oh well, for the record I tried.

It appears that you've failed to sidestep the classic pitfall of confusing agreement and understanding. For the record, I tried.

Anyway, I don't want to escalate this too much or get too heated.

Aloha and Mahalo for the debate.

I'll look into it. Have an aloha kind of day, and Mahalo for the referral. I too live and work near the sea, and have noted no difference whatsoever.

Let me ask you a sincere question. What, if anything, are you willing to give up for this cause. Your car, perhaps. Trips off-island. What have you already given up after deliberation solely because of global warming?

That’s 5 consecutive days with new record highs for Hilo.
9 days in November have been record highs or tied the record at Hilo.

Other Hawai’i stations have seen record highs this month too.
