Get ready for the onslaught! This summer, Hawaii is predicted to be the number one destination choice for Americans who are traveling.

If Spring Break is an indicator, I believe this article. We have been packed with tourists and it will probably last for two more weeks.

Good for those in the Hospitality Industry and tax revenue.

I don't buy it - especially if Covid tests are still required. It reads like a PR piece. No credible State tourism departments are projecting an onslaught.

The Feb occupancy numbers just came out - an uptick from 20% in January to 30% in Feb. They are projecting 70% for Spring Break - far below an onslaught.

I think much of the Spring Break traffic is due to the stimulus checks - Vegas was the same way last weekend, despite casino floors limited to 50% occupancy, that was completely ignored - everything seemed eerily pre-pandemic.

If true, good news! Hopefully it'll help get things back to normal sooner than expected.

Not when you have plainclothes police on a side street off Kalakaua handing out hundreds of $130 tickets for entering the crosswalk with a flashing palm.

Where else will Americans be traveling? I have expected domestic travel to be hot this summer in the U.S. for a couple months now.

It appears Alaska will not be getting their million plus cruise ship passengers, however, due to Canada disallowing ships to stop in their ports.

When my family visited me in Honolulu, I warned them that crossing the streets is not the same as it is in NYC. They will ticket your behind in Hawaii Of course, I still risk it, but would be taking extra care these days!

What? It was low hanging fruit. Entrapment plain and simple. They were actually part of the problem as they seemed like a bunch of street people selling crap that were distracting enough. BS. I'd like to think that a lot of the cases that go to court will be dismissed but the tourist from Idaho is screwed.

To protect lives or as a revenue generator?
Been here 43 years and this is the first time I have seen this scam. A cop in hot pants ticketing people? Let's get some BTS impersonators and ticket a flock of girls storming the streets.

I think we kill more pedestrians than any other American city our size. Not sure what the count is on locals crossing Beretania or clueless guy in Waikiki. Cops in hot pants. How do I post a picture?
