ANYWAY. THATS ALL YOU GOT - tourists. You don’t produce anything else.
LOL, you are becoming increasingly "shrill" as you retreat from your earlier condescending insults, and what an ignorant concept it was to suggest that you or any other Oahu residents are somehow supporting me and that I should be grateful.

A few posts back, you stated that we couldn't even grow sugar cane. Now, all we've got is tourists. You ignored the fact that far more tourism tax money is collected, per island resident, on Maui than on Oahu. Chances are, we are providing support for Oahu residents rather than the other way around.

Just for the record: You don't produce anything else, either. If mainland food supplies to Hawaii were suddenly cut off, who would be the first to starve? Oahu or the outer islands?

I think we all know the answer to that question.

BTW: While taxes on tourism make up the lion's share of Hawaii's budget, the Federal contribution to the State budget is 21%. That does NOT include military spending on Oahu which is probably higher than the State budget.

Who cares! Someone mentioned Z/C can't even vote in Hawaii but consider their money can certainly "buy votes"

Guy is worth 80 billion, so that is 80,000 million and even if he dumps 250 million in to his Hawaii 5-0 fantasy land he still has 79,750 million left.

Locals will profit from working there, building whatever dream home he wants. Property taxes will fund local services/education.

I'd look at Meta/Facebook as a big conspiracy long before I'd worry about 1400 acres on an island in the middle of the ocean.

Well, that’s kinda the point of posting the topic: ‘who cares and why?’ Eh?
I wrote at the first post: it’s an interesting headscratcher. I can see multiple sides, as you observe one, to ponder while appreciating also the bad optics causing upset among some locals.

Of course, if one holds the opinion that the outer island locals are insignificant minions … then ‘who cares’ rules anyway
