I just saw this article in Hawaii magazine in regards to the lifting of COVID travel restrictions for domestic travel effective March 26th. Any idea if the restrictions to enter restaurants with a vaccine only will be lifted, as well?

I believe that's also been lifted. "Google" it.

Good question and one I'd like to know. Maybe I've been looking in the wrong places, but much of what is being reported simply touches on the Safe Travels program ending, while noting on the side that the governor said at a press conference that the indoor mask mandate would remain at least until March 25th.

Maybe the vaccine/test passport to take part in many indoor activities is also being lifted (or has already been lifted ), but I can't seem to find anything on it one way or the other.

All of the county restrictions have ended except Oahu - which end March 6th.

Safe travels ends March 25.

Mask Mandate in force and Hawaii remains the only state with no date set to lift it.

All of this is such a mess.
Here on the Big Island some businesses have just stopped requiring even their employees to wear them. Luckily I haven't experienced any confrontations between the pro and anti-maskers inside these businesses, but I'm sure they occur.

I've yet to encounter a situation on Oahu with someone not wearing a mask indoors.

But we do have our anti-maskers - and sometime it turns violent - here is a story recently.....

I remember seeing the anti-mask crowd protesting in Waikiki when we were there in September. In addition to the yelling and insults being hurled, I recall seeing several "Unvaccinated Lives Matter" signs out and about. It was quite the spectacle

All I can say is: "Thank God". Coming up in April, this would have been the 4th trip home under Safe Travels. The first two times really were pains in the okole. Got easier after the vax came on line but still an admin hastle. The first time in Jan 2020 was really eerie - Waikiki was basically boarded up and shut down, no light, very few tourists, lots of homeless lurking in the shadows. The only comparison I have is Chinatown at 2:45 am...

My hotel was like an armed fortress with combat ready guards, heavily armed MPs, ID checks, full chem suits, everything shut off from the rest of the area with barricades. Felt safe though!!! Walking over to the Harbor Pub to get a pizza that night was like a scene from that old movie set in NYC "The Warriors", I wondered if the area would ever recover.

That is good to know! I'm ready for everything to get back to normal (if it ever can). Now we have the Ukraine/Russia war going on. No telling what will happen with that and the involvement with other countries.
