Mike from Back East, this discussion is going nowhere and needs to be closed. Please. Just a bunch of name calling and ridiculous statements. Yes, TAM1972, whoever you are, I mean you!

Introduction of natural predators would take care of that.

If you license hunters the carcass once reduced to possession, belongs to the hunter. Few hunters would show up otherwise.

I made a reasonable statement and got strawboyed. What do you expect. Do you have an actual example of name calling by me, or is that just another strawman. Your disagreement with a statement doesn't make it ridiculous.

YES! To make your perspective more palateable, these deer are invasive and non-native. They are destructive to the native natural environment and huge population increase indicates an imbalance to the natural lifecycle.

I would think one would be more sensitive to our beautiful fragile natural environment in our unique Hawaii over being ok with damaging it.

It reminds me of the couqi frogs, and the public backlash from the transplants protesting from killing them off. Like they rather the reducuolusly loud invasive frogs destroy Hawaii habitat than killing the poor little things, heh.

We have a deer problem here in Ohio too. Hitting a deer that suddenly crosses the road can cause much damage to vehicles and can also kill the driver and/or passengers not to mention killing, or worse in my opinion, injuring the deer.
If the deer could talk they would say WE have a human problem, they build roads right through our grazing paths and kill us with cars!

Well said and right on target.
