THE BEST JOB OPPORTUNITIES WOULD BE ON OAHU...WHAT DO YOU DO? AND ALSO, WHAT KIND OF LIFESTYLE ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN HAWAII? THERE IS A GREAT BOOK OUT CALLED "SO YOU WANT TO LIVE IN HAWAII" I DEFINITLY SUGGEST READING IT....IT'S VERY ON TRACK!~ CK. THE STATS ON PEOPLE THAT MOVE OFF THE ISLAND AFTER A VERY SHORT TIME, BECAUSE OF EXPENSE AND ALSO, CULTURE ,ROCK FEVER ETC.....SADLY TO SAY, I AM ONE OF THOSE STATS MYSELF....IMO...GREAT PLACE TO VISIT, VERY HARD TO LIVE THERE! THE BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS JUST DON'T PAY THE MORTGAGE.... IMO.>...THE NICEST PEOPLE ON EARTH LIVE IN HAWAII!! GOOD LUCK AND MAHALO!

Thumbs up Living vs Employment

I am a certified forklift/bobcat op. & the wife is in the management field. We're not high maintenance people, and are pretty easy going. We're just looking for a change in our life, and are trying to find a place out there where we can live and work fairly comfortable. Some people say Oahu, and some are saying Kona. Does anybody have any commets on that?

THANKS

DH & I have been doing our research as well. We plan on attempting the Big Island first, this fall and spending a month there to explore. I have close friends that live there and have been there for over 14 yrs now and would never leave....I have also lived on east coast islands -- Nantucket & the Cape, one can definately get rock fever.....but the Hawaiian Islands seem to have a lot more to offer than a tiny island that has nothing.....I wish you luck. If you do move, let us know how you are doing! I will be there in early fall! Aloha!

That's what we have been trying 2 find out also. But it sounds like between Oahu or Kona. Depending on what your looking 4 and/or do for work? U need 2 make your own post 4 what your looking 4, so u can get responds back from people who know more then us.

Good luck on your search......
