I have done some searches on this site and have only been able to find threads about people sending smaller animals in the planes cabin. Since my lab is about 70 pounds she will not be fitting under a seat!

So I need to know for those who have flown larger animals from the mainland to Oahu....

What airline did you use?

How much did it cost for your pet to fly...(ours will only be going one way)?

How long before you moved/flown did you start the process of health with your vet?

Here is a link to the State's quarantine website: Animal Quarantine Information — Hawaii Department of Agriculture There should be links there to all sorts of information about bringing a pet over.

I don't know if any airlines are allowing any animals to be in the cabin anymore. The airlines shift their rules and regulations around, the best thing would be to ask the airline you are flying over on what the current rules are. There is only a few airlines to choose from, so it shouldn't be that difficult to inquire of all of them.

Hawaiian Air is the best airline to Hawaii. If you are flying from the coast, they have a lot of different cities you can fly from. go to Hawaiian Airlines: Hawaii Vacations, Travel and Flights and check their links. They will answer all your questions. They are very clear, their phone support is great, and you get to listen to good Hawaiian music on hold.
