Mele Kalikimaka! Merry Christmas everyone. This thread is to share the island spirit of christmas with others and give others who may not have seen Hawaii during christmas an ideal of whats its like. But most important its to share the aloha and joy of the season. Feel free to post anything related to a Hawaii christmas, it can be what you are doing this holiday, to special ohana traditions, to unique foods, to Hawai'ian christmas music etc. Just have fun. Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka guys!

Smile Merry Christmas!

Mahalo for the post & Merry Christmas to you! We have several CDs of Hawaiian Christmas music, but (1) I sold my CD player as a part of our "moving to the Big Island sale" and (2)The CDs (which we did not sell) are in one of the 100 or so boxes my wife has packed for shipment.

Maybe by Christmas 2015 we will have uncovered them.

There are many other communities that do christmas parades.

Its been awhile since ive been home but once in awhile you hear about the $100 dollar xmas tree when supplies are short. How was it for people this year?

Hawaii is really unique in population diversity and sometimes you can experience the diversity of cultures during Christmas. Thou Christmas being the biggest in western cultures. if your lucky in Hawaii you will get a glimpse or share and experience some other cultures traditions or foods. For example:

Filipino christmas food

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfiTF4Jmxf4

A glimpse of japanese christmas food

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWmKj26kU_k

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWNrbQ2R4RI

Crackseed and li hing mui is also a popular food gift in the islands which is chinese.

Thou asian and hawaiian are not the dominate culture in christmas on the islands, they do contribute to make an interesting experience.

Any other asian posters who live in Hawaii whose ohana cooks asian christmas foods? Please feel free to share.

And anyone else who has experienced christmas in Hawaii
