Just on a side note...Dubai is building a solar powered city! With the abundance of sunlight it would only make sense if Hawaii would use solar energy to power the future...

My friend had a solar water heater - it rusted out from the salt. Yes it was inside..... I even covered my computer in house and it got salt ...
Looking into the newer ones at this time .... but she is on ocean... they have improved...

Water heaters all rust out, even here in the Midwest. The worst is when they rust out from the inside - meaning that you are probably on a well and have really hard water... This can happen in as little as 3-4 years!

Are there any guarantees on those heaters? You would hate to keep buying a new one every couple of years!

Try the tankless water heaters. there also cheaper to run.
