I have family and friends who reside in Las Vegas (they retain homes here as well). They have parties and get-togethers quite often and always seem to run into other from Hawaii.
We moved to Hawaii from Las Vegas! Get a lot of funny reactions from Hawaii residents when they find out "you LEFT Las Vegas?" LOL Well it was great for a long time, but is a very toxic city in many ways. I have a son and many friends still there.

That IS interesting. You'd think most Hawaiians would be very content living in Hawaii! They probably are, but I guess it shows that Vegas has a place in the Aloha heart
I did notice though that Waikiki does have a bit of a Vegas feel..slightly. Although Waikiki is all natural though!
So how, and why did Hawaiians all of a sudden move to Las Vegas? What are the stats on Hawaiian's living in Las Vegas? I heard over 12% of Vegas's population are Hawaiians?
My sister lives there and they're always asking her what island she is from and her
reply is "rhode island".
And then they say, "Oh, in New York?"
I spent five years in RI, and no one outside of New England seems to know it's a state... they think you're saying "Long Island," I guess.
On the original topic: I'm in Honolulu, and my niece lives in Vegas. But I don't think it counts, since we're both transplants from So. Cal.
I personally don't see the appeal of Vegas at all... I've been through several times on cross-country road trips, and never really liked it enough to stop. I'm going in May for a conference & to visit the niece, though, so maybe I'll be convinced otherwise.
I just moved to Henderson from Hawaii and I'm trying to figure out how or where to meet the people from Hawaii. Any suggestions? I have kids and want to meet people with families, too!

Go to the Ho'olaule'a, May Day Festival, food places like Ross J's on Mountain Vista and Sunset, right there in Henderson. Get Aloha Kitchen in front of Sunset Station Casino, and also Thelma's Filipino Food in the same building. Locals tend to gravitate to food. Get ready for the summer sizzle. Been here 10 years and it never gets any easier bearing the heat. Hot is hot! Hopefully with God's blessings, we'll be making our way back to Honolulu by the end of the year. I've lived in da land of milk and honey with the white picket fences fo too long! Time to get back to my roots! Exodus!
