Hi--

I am thinking of retiring to Hawaii. My daughter live on Maui and Kauai and I fell in love with the people and the place. i am thinking Maui or the Big Island. I would like to find a little property where I could paint, raise koi and maybe grow flowers for export --I am thinking in the uplands, but on the wetter side of whatever island. I don't need to pay a premium to be near a beach. I am all about green off-the-grid living, but would like access to public water. Also am an internet junkie so that is a factor. I would rather deal with an owner than have to deal with realtors, since I have bought and sold property before.

It seems like its harder to get permission to build in Hawaii than on the mainland. Any tips? Anyone have land, or know someone who wants to sell some?

Try www.myeranch.com they have good prices & finance in house. I bought my lot from them & they are very honest. All Hawaii land for sale is on the big island.
