NREMT-P with Michigan CCT cert... Couple questions (Waimanalo: rentals, house)

Little background first...

I grew up on Oahu, went to Aliamanu and moved away when I was about 12. My Auntie still lives on the island in Waimanalo, so I do have some family there.

I am currently a Medic working for a private company that serves most of the Detroit area and has several rescue contracts such as Highland Park, MI(very rough area of Detroit)

I am a fairly new medic but have a few years Fire/Ems before getting my Paramedic license, I am also on my local FD and have been for a couple years. I am ACLS, PALS, PHTLS and Michigan CCT certified. I work in a stressed EMS system currently and we work 12 to 14 hour shifts. My calls when running are primarily rescue and are a good mix of medical and severe trauma, GSW, assaults etc. I have a good working knowledge of IV pumps, Eagle and HT50 vents, mesuring ART lines etc.

Now for the questions..

1. Does HI have reciprocity with NREMT? I've heard both ways and I've read both on here. From what I've understood I should be able to submit my application and my NREMT # and apply for a HI license correct? If Hawaii is an NREMT state then they have the same min standard?

2. What hurdles am I going to have to overcome in getting on with C&C?

3. How long is the whole process? I know there has been a constant open position for MICT for quite a while.

4.What if anything else can I do to smooth the application process?

I will be spending a month or two living in my Aunts rental house and we have managed to save about 10k for the move, first/last months rent etc. We are not bringing anything with us, 2 bags each. I have searched craigslist to get a good idea on home rentals and we should be ok and will have a month or two to find something so we don't have to rush.

Any tips or information would be great!
