My client told me that the local Lincare provider told them that Humana Medicare HMO would not cover this. Any suggestions?

Your post does not contain very much information.
A prescription is necessary for medical oxygen.
Also, depending on the HMO he is in, they may use specific providers and Lincare may not be it.
However, if you're referring to somebody that is already on oxygen and this is referring to a portable battery operated unit, Medicare does approve them but only under very specific conditions.
The clue phrase is "medically necessary"
I would give an example but will wait until you are more explicit about the situation.

Humana may only pay for portable oxygen bottle rentals as its a advantage HMO plan with its own terms. of coverage.
