Yes, Medicare covers. When I got Accu-chek test strips for my mother a few years ago at CVS pharmacy, they were billed through Part B. They're considered a medical supply, not a drug. The pharmacy accidentally put it through her Part D first and the price was outrageous and wrong. Then put it through again correctly through Part B and they were free. She has AARP United Healthcare F Plan for her supplement.

It was a few years ago, but your friend can confirm with the pharmacist.

Hope this helps.

AccuCheck also offers a subscription program where you may get strips in the mail once a month. A box of 50 costs $16.

I get my test strips from Walmart and they used to be 0 with my plan F but the last 2 times I have had to pay the % plan F pays. F has sent Walmart the money but Walmart has yet to reimburse me. Walmart has spent time on the phone trying to figure out what is going on, everything is coded correctly.
