Emphasize to the staff that you are possibly having a serious reaction to the medication and you need to know if you should stop it. I am surprised that your symptoms did not ring alarm bells with the rheumatology staff. The prednisone can cause depression and feelings of paranoia, but that is usually at higher doses. I hope that you don't have to revamp your RA therapy while you're trying to move.

Any chance you could send DS and DD to DH?

I hate moving! Use some of your moving allowance to hire some help.
It could very well be the Enbrel. due to an insurance issue, I wasn't taking it on schedule for a long time, I was barely taking it. I felt ok, except psoraisis flared up.

Now that insurance is being more generous, I get my Enbrel on a consistent basis. And this happens? Hmmm...........perhaps stop the Enbrel for ahwile............I shouldn't be guessing or turning to a board for answers, that's what the docs are paid to do! Thanks for all the advice, I will pursue it tomorrow, all I can do now is turn in for the night. I wish I could take a shower, but don't dare, what if I got a dizzy spell? I'm not really "dying" for a shower..........

Actually feeling better today. My ehuematologist called in Antivert, it does help. I felt steady enough to take a shower and walk around the house.

I had spinal surgery in Houston, that's where I'm going back for another MRI and evaluation. what's the point of chasing after doctors here when I don't trust them, anyways? BTW, we're moving just north of Houston, to Spring, about 30 miles from the Houston medical center, a world's leading neurosurgery dept, why go anywhere else.

I am feeling better, just taking it easy. The moving company comes Tues to pack, Wed to load, there's still a lot of final prep work to be done, but we get $5000 reimbursement for moving so let them do their job. I just don't want a lot of junk helter skelter in boxes, like our last moves. Also, our cleaning people come tomorrow, for an extra $20 they will clean the fridge and oven, well worth the money.

Tomorrow I'm going to a podorthist to have special inserts made for my shoes, and getting extra depth shoes with heal stabilizer bars, my pidiatrist recommened them.

I think it was just stress, after all, packing up a 5 bdr house is no easy task!

If I was to guess right off the top of my head I would say it's the inner ear; I would presume from your OP. I don't have time to read all the nice answers but definitely ask about an inner ear infection.

It's a good idea to say your age as well.

Good-luck to you.

Feeling much better today!

Yesterday we drove up to visit dh, stayed at his place last night, perhaps my theroy its the new carpet has something to do with it?

Could be the antivert, but that only allievates symptoms, it doesn't prevent them. I took one last night, it definitely helped, but it wouldn't carry over today.

Or perhaps my new shoes? I went to podiatrist thinking he could prescribe something to stabalize my gait, he suggested New Balance with heel stabalizer, and some custom-made orthotics. I then went to a pedorthoist (guy who specialized in shoes) he discovered an interesting fact---one foot is 2 sizes longer than another!I haven't had my feer accurately measured in years, juust guestimate I'm somewhere between 8-8.5. Actually, I'm left 8.5, right 6.5. Would help to have shoes that fit! I ended up buying two pair, that along with the orthotics came to $400 Ok, perhaps Blue Cross will reimburse some, but I rationalized I just recently spent about $300 on two pair of shoes for ds because I believe in good footware, he was going to bike camp.

My sense of vertigo is gone, along with the dread I was experiencing. I had an MRI scheduled next week, but if the symptoms are gone, why bother? Or at least schedule it at a more convenient time, we are moving next week. Also, the MRI costs $500, couldbuy some new shoes with that!

Glad to read you're feeling better. Time away probably helped.
Its probably a combination of stuff. You've had a lot of work done on the house recently & have been doing a lot.

I think once you get to your next destination, you will be able to rule out anything that was done in the old house (paint, carpet, duct cleaning) so if you still have symptoms; it could be stress or your surgery.

We went to our new house today, I can't make it around! I did pick out the house and went through it about a month ago, seemed fine, but now I'm terrified. You either park in front and walk up a very flat sidewalk, or park in back and go through the garage. I couldn't manage either one, that is, without someone with me, I was simply terrified.

Ok, I did make it up the sidewalk and inside, but that was with dh, dd, and ss flanking me. I did make it under my own power, but the sense of terror was overwhelming. Then once inside I realized I can't manage the shower, that is, the walkin shower, its like a step up, I could have managed it a few weeks ago, now I'd as soon walk into a gas chamber.

What can we do? We've already signed the lease, which they don't break easily. We figure to postpone the move for another few weeks, by then I can see my specialist in Houston and at least get some data I can count on. Also, they are having a big "meeting" at dh job next week, hmmmmm........to announce layoffs? That would be disasrous, to have just moved and get laid off............

Now that sounds like a panic attack. I think the stress of moving is getting to you.

Panic attacks can be blocked with medication. Please discuss it with your family doctor.

I do think its a panic attack. Only once did I actually lose balance, and some quick-thinking people caught me. But other times I'm perfectly ok physically, but panic if someone isn't right beside me. I did manage the grocery store tonight, went all through the big, bad store and was ok except for a few moments, when my dh got out of range, then I felt sheer terror.

Seel, my legs work perfectly fine. My kids both are of that opinion, except they express it differently. Ds is more patient, he says I walki on my own, but when I experience those attacks he just gets near me, puts a hand on my arm, and I'm fine. I never put any weight on him. DD just says oh, its all in your head.

Ok, same opinion, expressed differently. Thing is, what to do? I have a rx for valium, take it but then feel drowsy. My back is weak due to recent surgery---last March. Perhaps I just need some therapy to strengthen the back more, but hard to do when you panic walking across a room.
