If You feel good after the act, than it is good. If you feel like you did it with the wrong person or because they wanted you too and you just went with the moment... You could feel bad afterwards or start to loose respect for yourself and that is bad for your health. So, it all depends on how you feel after. I definately believe in a marriage more sex is very good and keeps the couple closer and more loving. But in relationships where your just friends or whatever it can have devasting effects.
Now for my two cents on this topic........
Sex is a gift to keep the species constant and growing. But as we age sex can be more than intercourse. It's touching, talking listening and just making sure that your partner KNOWS that you still find them to be very important to you.
When we are young nature turns up the heat so the fire in our souls is HOT. Then nature slowly turns the down the fire to a long lasting glowing ember that will sustain the couple for (hopefully) the rest of their marriage (or partnership).
That said, you must use the sexual functions of the body to keep them healthy just like any other organ or muscle. How you choose to accomplish that need is up to you just don't let it rot for lack of use.
Depends on where you're getting the sex. The human immunodeficiency virus, herpes, gonorrhea, etc. are all pretty bad for you. I think that nooners are probably okay, but anything that you pick up after midnight is probably bad and I'm sure that alcohol and guilt hormones negate any positive effects.
and if depends on what type of birth control you are using: sex makes babies, too many babies can ruin your health, mommy gets tired, daddy runs out of money..
Pauline Porter, who was the world's heaviest woman at 700 pounds, lost 100 pounds in a year by having sex with her ex-husband. She reported that, even though she cant move around much in bed, she still burns 500 calories per session -- and that they have sex up to seven times a day.
If you're healthy and have a regular partner why not. I take it it's not marathon sessions but nice simple release of pleasure. Or is it single sex...that too is good for release.
I don't know why people try to make sex a bad thing. You know what's bad for you is stress...a killer for sure. Stress can actually raise cholesterol levels; it's a fact.

A bit OT, but many are raised to believe sex is dirty, evil, or bad, unless for the exclusive reason to reproduce, so birth control is evil too, none of this "we do it because it feels good" stuff.
Regular orgasms have been proven(especially in men) to be good for you.
Random sex with strangers is, and always has been, very dangerous.
