Could you use condoms as a permanent birth control method (pregnant, surgery)

Just wondering how many people out there both men and women that would be willing to use condoms as a permanent birth control method
As for Myself this would not fly. I would rather not have sex than use a condom in a LTR but I overheard a coworker say that her and her husband still use condoms for birth control and they've been married for 11 year, have kids and don't plan on having anymore
A friend of mine recently had a vasectomy a few years ago to get rid of all possibilities of getting a woman pregnant. Important to note that condoms can help prevent STDs (not 100%), but a vasectomy does not. If you're getting one to stick it wherever you want, then that's not cool, but who am I to judge, it's your life. However, with one of those, you have less (in a sense) to think about. If a woman tells you she is pregnant, 99.999% you can laugh it off (Have had 4 women who tried to trick me into pregnancy only to figure out it was either someone else, or they lied about it).
From what I understand (I may be wrong), there are two types. The type my friend received allows him to undo the surgery should he want to have kids. He's always talking about it w/the guys and the females in our hang out group. I considered the idea, but like just abstaining. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future.
Yes, that is the only method that I would be willing to use, unless down the road I get married & we're done having children, then at that point he could get a vasectomy if he wanted. Condoms have a 98% efficacy rate when used appropriately, I will not put birth control in my body just because a man prefers sex without a condom

I'm gay. I always use condoms. I don't get the big deal about using them.
That said, over a reproductive lifetime, condoms have a good chance of failing at least once, probably twice. There should always be a 2nd method used.

it makes for really really bad sex for some people.
when I was in high school and college I had no problem at all wearing condoms but like a lot of men and women out there that have been in long term relationships using other forms of birth control like the pill or an IUD it's really hard to go back to condoms when you re-enter the dating seen.
