My husband (whom I will be divorcing) found out he had Hepatitis C in 2006, I met him in 2007. He found out through routine lab work being done prior to surgery. He never told me. I found out by getting a copy of one of his recent arrest reports. He got blood on a arresting police officer, and told him I hope you get what I got. Since then I have been tested, and tested positive. The treatment is over 60 thousand dollars. And its not a garantied cure. I hear it makes you sick ( the treatment ) My health ins. will probally be discontinued in November when he settles his Maritime Law, Law suit against his employer. Do I have a Suit against him. Any professional comments welcome. He is currently in jail again for domestic violence. Any unprofessional views welcome.

Heard of similar cases but with AIDS. I'd say you have a potential lawsuit. Best thing to do is talk to a qualified attorney.

Default spouse did not disclose his hep C. to me

I think think this is a case of manslaughter. He knowling knew he had hep C and with content gave it to you. Seek legal charges against him.

I knew a girl who sued her ex-boyfriend for giving her herpes in 1990. She got a settlement for $20,000. Herpes is not life threatining, just forever.

Does he have any money? If he doesn't a civil suit is a waste of time and money.
If the district attorney doesn't want to prosecute you might want to go to your local newspaper with your story.
