I'M AWARE OF THE 2 YRS OF STATUE OF LIMATATION. I WAS JUST SAYING I BELIEVE FRAUD WAS COMMITTED BY THIS PYHSICIAN REPORTING TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY THAT HE ACTUALLY PERFORMED THIS 2002 SURGERY ( DUE TO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUITE REGARDING TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENTS ) ThIS SURGERY NEVER OCCURED. I FOUND THIS UNOPEN SURGERY REPORT IN MY FILE CABINET AS I WAS SHREDDING OLD MAIL. JUST NEEDED TO KNOW IF. ANYONE ELSE IN THE CITY DATA COMMUNITY HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPOND,
HIPWHIP

No need to shout.

First, is there the possibility that the 2002 surgery was for someone with a similar name? Do any of the documents have any identifying information, such as a birth date? Is there a copy of an insurance claim? How would a claim have been filed in 2002 and you not be aware of it? The insurance company would have sent you an "explanation of benefits" if they paid anything on your behalf. Therefore, unless you do not open your mail from your insurance company, it seems unlikely that a fraudulent claim was paid.

Next, who sent them to you and when? Is there a return address and postmark on the envelope? Did it actually go through the mail? If not, it was hand delivered to you at some point.

Finally, have you contacted the hospital or the doctor to find out what is going on?

How about investigating before you accuse someone of fraud.
