I agree (interesting study). O.K., so stretching before work-outs does not prevent injury. But this begs the whole question of the desireability of maintaining range of motion, which is accomplished by stretching. (Many claim after exercise is better, as the muscles are warm). In any case, the American College of Sports Medicine recommends stretching. It may not be "necessary" but it sure is desireable.
Why do athletes pull hamstrings? Isn't that the results of not properly stretching?
