WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal health regulators are warning doctors that a class of injectable drugs used in MRI medical imaging scans can cause a rare and sometimes fatal condition in patients with kidney disease.

Thanks for posting this one John1960 my friend. I saw a special on this today and it's very important that people realize what's happening with the MRI's.

As most of the MRI's are ordered with contrast meaning they will inject you it's important that anyone with any kind of kidney concerns talk to their docs before having the procedure with contrast due to the discovery of untoward side effects for those with kidneys that are compromised.

When I found out they were going to inject something in me for the MRI I was having.. I came close to not having the MRI. I had to have a blood test the day before to check my kidney function. The MRI found meningioma tumor in my skull so I am glad I had it but am not so sure about wanting all the other ones I'll have to have to keep a eye on this tumor.
