I avoid this stuff like the plague, but somehow it sneaks into something I eat without me paying attention.
The corn sugar sweetener lobby wants to change the name to "corn sugar" due to all the negative attention coming their way..This wont really change anything because it will still be the same stuff.
Why is this stuff even used ? Is it just a cost thing here?

When first introduced into products, yes it was a cost cutter. These days however I've read that hfcs is or has closed the gap lately and may now be more expensive than sugar.
Does anyone know when Coke & Pepsi are supposed to switch over to sugar? Apparently Dr. Pepper already did, and it tastes different. Coca-Cola in Mexico has never been made with HFCS, I don't know how they got so lucky.
LOL how old are you? throwback is a term used to describe using methods of a by gone era. In this case using plain refined sugar to sweeten soft drinks verses the standard HFCS today.
Yes, and Coke and Pepsi both did it for awhile this past year but I don't think they did it to Dr. Pepper.
