I'm in my early twenties, thin, 5'8, and weigh 147 pounds. In my first year of HS, I was 135 pounds. Two years later, I gained 10 pounds. And years lower, I gained 2 more pounds.

I admit that I do exercise occasionally. A lot of guys my age weigh more than I do and I do eat healthy. I admit to drinking a lot of soft drinks and eating junk as a youth.

Now is it unhealthy to stay the same weight after all those year?

Sodas are not good for you, for many reasons. Do some googling to see if you want to keep drinking them. I know a young man who is 5'10" and he weighs 153. He is beyond lean, into skinny. Give up the junk food and eat right.

So, many people remain slim into their twenties and adulthood. It is far better than doing what most do which is to gain weight and increase risk of heart disease, type II diabetes and early death.

I never gained any weight past the age of 18 (I am now 23). I also don't drink any sugary, nasty drinks though either and if you want to do well health wise as other people said you should cut them out. True, genetics are on my side personally, but I am also very active and eat properly, no junky rubbish.

I cut back on the sodas two years ago. Haven't touched another one since. I've also cut back on the junk food, although I have some once in a while but not as much.

I do not see a problem with being slim.

I am 5'10" in high school I wrestled in the 95 pound weight-class. I graduated Navy bootcamp at 135.

I stayed between 135 and 145 until I was about 35 years old. By 40 I was 160, and now at 50 I am 180.

I'm within ten pounds of my high school weight, and I graduated 30 years ago. Not everyone gains weight as they get older.

Take this advice from a plump lady with a grain of salt: You could stay the same weight and still end up at an unhealthy weight if you don't exercise very much, b/c what was probably muscle in high school could be turning to fat from lack of use, and your weight would be the same--I have seen thin people get diabetic, so normal weight doesn't exempt you. Lose the soda and exercise more regularly and you'll be better off than 98% of America.
