How do those with a chronic illness make it through each day?

I enjoy listening to some music.

It depends on which illness you have. Pain is the most difficult to deal with for many people. Inability to walk is also quite limiting. I go sit outside on my patio with the dogs when I need to de-stres. I also like to listen to classical music.

Meditation, music, and emotional support.

I ignore.

Probably not the 'healthiest' thing to do, but it's been working for me since I was little. I pretend I don't have anything wrong with me at all. I don't have much emotional support (besides my mom) because most of my friends an coworkers have no idea that I have a chronic illness...it's not something I talk about. So, I just go on with my life as 'normal' as I can.

JetJockey - thank goodness for mothers; although it is rough b/c it is really hard when people do not understand chronic illness...best to all

do what I really MUST do, then I pull up my most used comfortable chair.
which is the one in front of the computer.

My husband and I have reached those "golden" years. Movement is slow and somewhat painful. It's a one day at a time thing and I rejoice that I live in the computer age. I don't know how I would pass the time without it.

I am in a wheelchair an am blind; I am also in severe pain. To try to de-stress I listen to a book and try to crochet as long as the pain in my fingers allow.

If I can swing it I have a massage in my home (since the hassle of travelling would negate any benefits of the massage!).

I also enjoy sitting with my Service Dog on the covered swing in my yard with a cool drink and the book I mentioned previously.

I just try to think about life when it was better, and when it will get better again. Things will change, and get better. I have to believe that.
