Where to start...10 years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. I am allergic to wheat products and for the last 2-1/2 years I have had several pain in my right shoulder. In the last year I have had several operations thinking it would take care of my pain in my shoulder. In Oct. 2009 I had a neck fusion done on C3-C4, then in Dec. 2009 had surgery on my shoulder where the Dr. removed a bone spur. Neither surgeries helped my pain. I was then referred to my present Dr. He said after the first neck injection he would be able to tell me if my pain was in my neck or shoulder. It was decided that the pain was coming from my neck. However, after 3 injections, no improvement. It was then decided my only option left was to have the stimulator operation done. This was done in Sept, 2010 within several weeks, I was in such severe pain due to the battery implant. The battery had moved and was now tilted and sticking out at a 45 degree angle. It was decided that I needed an "adjustment" and that the battery needed to be moved. In Dec, 2010 my 2nd surgery was done. This one was so much more painful than the first procedure. Now, I am two months past this surgery and my pain is getting worse everyday. They have now increased my extended release meds Opana from 5mg to 20mg along with the Magnecet pain med for the break through to help me through the day. Now for the the other issue....the battery has tilted yet again!! The Dr's assistant informed me that the Dr may want to move and go deeper with the battery! I am now waiting for the Dr to get back to me. Has anyone else had this much trouble with the battery moving like this??

The major issue I am having is all the pain meds the Dr's has me on is messing with my system. How do I manage my pain when the meds back me up??? I really could use some advise!!!

fIRST, EAT lot of prunes. They do the trick easily and naturally an d don't mess with your "system" at all. Secondly, get a second opinion from another surgeon.
