I had a cortisone shot on the back of my shoulder in April of last year after experiencing months of burning pain. A massage therapist suggested I see an orthpedic surgeon as she suspected a torn rotator cuff. Turned out to be tendonosis and bone spurs.
I had some soreness in the location of the shot for a few days, but it did a world of good. He sent me for some physical therapy after that. He said I'm not out of the woods, but so far the pain has not returned. The numbing agent they use prior to the shot does help enormously, by the way.
