I don't know that it was "good" -- I was on a liquid diet - total nutrition straight into my veins and it had to be infused for a LONG period of time - like 10 hours. Generally it ran at night, but that meant I had to stay home in the evenings in order for it to start and be done in time for me to unhook and go to school.

Plus there were a few nights with thunderstorms and power outages that I was a little nervous.

But all in all - compared to the alternative (starving to death, basically) -- give me the broviac any day!

Some of those come with battery packs now.

I have done 9 hour infusions before, great time to play WoW! But usually the infusion nurse would give me two benedryl and I would be too sleepy to play.

Great idea, and one of the nurses at the hospital told me the same thing. We just got a bunch of kids sports bras, works great and keeps the cap from dangling all over the place!!! And being 5, kind of makes her feel special wearing it
