How much money are they charging nowadays for each day of stay? My hospital charges 4k/day just for the room, 1K more for daily services I bet. They were charging 7-8k/day when I was in a room with higher level of care but now I'm in the "cheap" room. I just found this out (they never told me) and I am going to be leaving AMA since they are trying to hold me for 3 more months!!! I could be staying in a luxury hotel with my own personal nurse/rented equipment with that amount of money. The healthcare system is totally broken. Of course my out of pocket costs are negligible, but why would I want to max out my lifetime benefits so I'll be left without coverage in case I have a future car accident or something? I can't believe the insurance company pays this amount without flinching.
