I dredge mine in egg and then panko and then use Pam and bake it in the oven.

Hmm, I stand corrected. I don't believe this article, but here it is:

Avoid Tilapia? - Dr. Weil
I usually go with Salmon over Tilapia.

I bake mine with lemon squeezed over it. Nothing else.
When it's done I put some more fresh lemon on it and voila, serve with veggies, rice or put it on a salad and so forth.

I would think you wouldn't want to overdo the intake of Tilapia, just like with most foods and I expect the gals health issues are 99.9% other stuff and so distracting her with some Tilapia scare while she drinks pepsi and scarfs twinkies isn't likely a good use of time and energy.

It is clear that it is more of their weight that is causing the issue. I use to be 310lb with back, and knee pain and high blood pressure and I started eating fish to lose weight as well as working out. I mostly eat tilapia, due to the price being great and i love the taste. All those article say that the fat content is bad but they are clearly wrong because I am now 160lb. I have 40lbs to go and I still eat about 6oz of tilapia 3 times a week and have no issues, and my doctor has found no problems with it.

I dont eat Tilapia.

But i research pretty much all my food now. I dont eat any flesh food except salmon, and some shellfish - and that's every now and then.

I think people should know more about what goes into their body - what's more personal than that...

She told me that they eat a lot of tilapia and I have briefly searched the web and see that it is not the best to eat. In fact the article said that those who have arthiritis and or heart disease should avoid it?

Any feedback will be appreciated.
I wouldn't worry about Tilapia. There could be alot of reasons she's overweight. She could be retaining fluid, consuming too much sodium, not active, not getting enough rest, undetected heart issue, hormone changes, thyroid issues affecting metabolism, sneaking a candy bar every now and then...etc.

But she is lucky to have a caring friend such as you.
