I'm not sure what it means although it seems self explanatory. I assume that I have to reduce my intake of sugar. Anyone else have to deal with this?

It means you are or soon will be diabetic. A diet change is needed. Ask your doctor for a diabetic educator referral - all hospitals and many clinics have them.

Diet and exercise. You will need to reduce carbs. If you do eat carbs, eat complex carbs in moderation. Lean protein and veggies are good, except high carb vegetables. Sugar in any form must be reduced. Alcohol included. Don't eat anything made from a box! Shop fresh.

If you are overweight, you need to lose some. You do not want to be diabetic.

I have watched a close friend who is diabetic for 30 years. He never took care of himself. He came close to losing his feet, which he can no longer feel due to neuropathy. He has finally wised up after all these years and is doing the right thing. Of course, it won't change some of the damage already done to his body.

You can probably reverse this doing the things mentioned by the other posters above. Cut out sugars and starches, drink only water or black coffee (no artificial sweeteners), and start an exercise program even if it's just walking a few miles a day. Don't get too hung up on fat or the carbs in green vegetables though. If you stick to meat, eggs, cheese, cream (milk has sugar), green vegetables, stone fruits or berries, and nuts, you'll be in good shape.
