I have had a Mobility scooter for the past 5 years. I found that there are just a few places it seems a power chair would work better. But I have never had or even been on a power chair. Also I know that Rascal has a chair that converts to a scooter. Does any one know anything about the pros & cons?

I work with the disabled and my patients who have to be in a chair all day always use a power chair. Patients who need help going distances have scooters. I couldn't tell you why though. A doctor or physical therapist could best help you weigh your options.

I really wanted to hear from people that have had both. Dr & Therapist have not used these items & can only advise. I just want the pros & cons from those who use them. Thanks for you input tho...

My Dad just got a jazzy. It's great for in the house but I don't know how you are supposed to take it with you anywhere. We got ramps for his truck, but if you can get it in and out and up and down the ramps, you certainly would be able to walk too. There doesn't seem to be an inexpensive way to cart the thing around with you.

I only got it out of the car once for him, that was enough, I broke out in a sweat! I did have to drive over a slight hill in the dirt and it wouldn't go...low clearance, he was driving around in a dirt parking lot and had no problems.
