Had similar problem. My derm tested for allergens. Found out I am allergic to balsam of peru. Cinnamon , also toothpaste with cinnamon flavour, chewing gum....tomato products etc...were the culprits.

My husband once got what you have on your hand from eating too many tomatoes. The acid in the tomatoes can cause that.

I would keep a food journal and check with an allergy specialist.

Did your doctor test your B-12?

Google "B-12 Deficiency Tongue" and check out the pictures.

My tongue hurt like hell prior to being diagnosed with a B-12 deficiency.

Not sure how it will all tie in with the fingers but B-12 has a lot to do with the body's immune system.

In other words, a deficiency could be causing you to have difficulty fighting a contact allergy on your fingers.

While you're at it, start taking vitamin D supplements to help strengthen your immune system. Most people dont' get enough vitamin D in their diets.

Just overnight my tongue went from that above to this..

i've gotten new ones and the old have gotten bigger.
The 2nd set of pics does look like the geographic tongue..

Anyway; toothpaste was mentioned & I wonder if maybe that could be a part of it. What toothpaste do you use? Biotene is very mild; but expensive.
How is your saliva?
IMO; you may think about seeing an oral surgeon that works in a university hospital. A regular township dentist may not know what it is. You can also look for an ear, nose, throat doctor in a university hospital.
Have you been tested for MRSA?
What do you normally touch with those fingers? Do you smoke? Electronic cigarette? Use a pen/pencil? Headset?

Start wiping things down. When was the last time you cleaned the toothbrush holder?

For your mouth; by the toothpaste/mouthwash is a product called BreathRX- try it.

The tongue issue looks like your saliva glands may be clogged or something. If you see an ENT; make sure you tell them about Mexico. Sounds like you picked something up & these parts of your body were damaged.
You can also try a natural Dr. Possible your body chemistry is off.

So I went to the allergist/immunologist today and he said the bumps look like Erythema Nodosum.. Sometimes associated with connective dissue disorders or immune dysfunction disorders. Time will tell I suppose. I have been to ENT'S they've biopsied both the tongue and fingers to no avail other than just inflammation. They were also all notified of Mexico. I have another appt in two weeks to get a food allergy test also along with blood work .
