My oldest son is 23 (24 in Dec) & found out last week he has hypotension. I guess he kept getting really dizzy/passing out when he'd stand up, & went to ER. They wanted to admit him, but he wouldn't let them. I have't a clue if this is related, but yesterday morning he woke up & his penis was really sore & swollen, & he went to the ER & had emergency surgery!! He swore nothing happened, he just woke up that way.. I believe him. he is supposed to go back for more testing today, something about his adrenal glands? I guess his blood pressure bottoms out even if he just sits up from laying down...
if anyone has any clue about this, I would love any help I can get.

It could be some sort of blood vessel disorder. Just wait for the docs to figure it out.

tell them to look for Dysautonomia (Dis-Auto-NO-Mia) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). I woke up one day suddenly very sick . Passing out feelings when I stood, VERY DIZZY, low bp etc. Like I literally couldn't even sit up without my bp dropping so low I though I would just pass out in bed.

Took me years to get diagnosed because I looked fine and they would always take my bp laying down.

PUSH for a tilt table test if u think he could have it after u talk to docs, its the only way to get a positive diagnosis really . www.dinet.org ..go to that page, see what u think a lot of doctors do not know abou it but that page has a lot of great info. Dysautonomia can effect all ur systems because its an autonomic disorder meaning it effects things u can't control, breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, equalibrium etc. (Do not freak its not fatal simply very annoying)

Your best bet for a diagnosis is a cardiologist or electrocardiologist they know more about it it seems or have heard of it and could direct u if it was suspected. Call around see if any doc has heard of it and get ur kid in to check. I'm not saying he has it but its def worth a shot esp with the dropping bp thats a tell tale sign and prime symptom of it. GL!
