I have tried corcedin, vicks vapo rub, humidifier and I been sick with this chest junk for almost a week now. I cough all the time and now I feel it settling in my chest it just feels heavy and I feel out of breath.

I was prescribed a cough med 4 years ago but I cant remember the name but I took it every 4 hours and the stuff worked!! I see my doc in 5 hours and trying to think of the name of what I was prescribed years ago. Does anyone know what it could have been?

Is it possible that the ER diagnosed you with bacterial pneumonia, and you were prescribed an antibiotic like azithromycin (AKA Zithromax) or erythromycin or some other antibiotic ??

There's a big difference between expectorants, which make you cough up mucus, and cough suppressants, that stop coughing. Uncertain as to which type you are seeking.

When I get those symptoms, I sleep in the smallest room in the house with two vaporizers. I make it into a steam room.

If by prescription, it might have been by the ingredient in Musinex....Guaifenesin .
By now, you've already been to the doctors so this is probably useless information.
