I tried to send you a PM but not allowed. I cured my sore throat issues, but I gather we can't talk alternatives on this group. I haven't had a sore throat in 21 yrs and I was the sore throat queen.
I'm 78 and never sick, except for nagging arthritis. Thanks I know to my "find".

I know this is a really old thread and I am sure that the OPs throat is fine now, LOL, but what I found out (purely by accident) is that oregano oil knocks out my sore throat. I tried other stuff like gargling with salt water and all sorts of stuff, but the oregano oil is what stopped my throat from feeling that I've had a dinner of razor blades.
Yes, I am being a big baby. I am hardly ever sick, so the sore throat is driving me nuts. I can't sleep. I have tried the Cloraseptic spray, it's just nasty.
What is the cure?
Help? koff koff koff
This is probably an old thread, but you will get a sore throat again. I had a chiropractor tell me to put 20 drops of Tabasco Sauce down my throat a few times a day whenever I have a sore throat. I use it a lot still, but only for allergy coughs because it stops the cough. But after he told me this I got sick and had a sore throat. I used Tabasco and didn't know that I even had a sore throat. I wasn't getting well, so I went to the doctor. He said, "This must be the worse sore throat you have ever had." I said, "I didn't know that I still had a sore throat." Well, I had Steph throat.
You get used to the heat of the Tabasco sauce. I got so used to it that one day I put it on soda crackers and ate one after another. Anyway, it wasn't hot anymore because I was used to it.
Another good very old and tried and true solution for general health of the nose (excellent preventative and remedy for sinus infections) and throat is flushing the nose with salt water by using a nedi pot.
It may seem gross at first but once you get used to doing it, it's easy.
Cut up a lemon and dice a thumb size piece of ginger. Put in a small jar. Cover with honey. Leave in fridge and use 1 tsp in glass of hot water as needed.
Hot Ginger Root Tea. As "newtovenice" said above take a moderate amount of ginger root and slice into think slices. Heat up about two cups of water on the stove. When boiling put the ginger slices into the water. Turn down and simmer for 15 minutes. Put strainer over cup and fill it. After finishing that cup reheat the ginger left on stove and pour into cup. I reuse the ginger for another session later on.
